What r the advantages and disadvantages of having a aluminum flywheel?
I will be going turbo and have this with a clutch master stage 4. So i figured it would help but will the loss in TQ hurt me that much.

Advantages
- faster engine rev
- less rotational mass
- faster turbo spool
- faster deceleration

Neutral
- gotta raise launch rpm to prevent bogging out

Disadvantages
- engine drops speed quicker shifting gears
- harder to drive at low speeds (bumper to bumper traffic, parking lots)

I have a Fidanza Aluminum flywheel on my Clutch Masters clutch and I love it.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that the less rotational mass makes your transmission last longer.

Ive always wondered, we have to know if we have a modular or non-modular clutch to be able to use an aluminum flywheel. 2 questions...if we switch it out with a new clutch we can pick the new clutch that will allow us to use a lightweight flywheel whether we had modular or non-modular to begin with right? and also, how should I check if im modular or non-modular without dissassembling the clutch. Oh, and my clutch has been replaced.

if you take out the starter you should be able to tell. just look to see if it has a flywheel or flexplate.

That wont necessarily tell you if you if you have a modular clutch or not. I have a non modular clutch with a fidanza aluminum flywheel and I still have to use the flexplate. If you pull off the lower access panel to the bellhousing, you may be able to see if the pressure plate is rivoted to the flywheel, but I highly doubt it.

The factory non-modulars have a flywheel bolted to the end of the crank. Fidanza sells an aluminum flywheel that bolts to the flex plate, and they also sell a full flywheel that doesn't use the flex plate. No factory flywheel non-modular will bolt to the flex plate, though, so checking behind the starter is a safe bet, unless the previou owner or some unscrupulous mechanic slipped a $350 flywheel in there without telling you.
