I Just Started to get ready to install my Headers and was attempting to take the heat shield off and wouldn't you know it, I get 5 of the six bolts off from the front and the last one is now stripped and still won't budge. Any suggestions

Try and use some vise grips to get it off. If that doesnt do it just it down with a dremmel and forget about it. One less screw wont matter.

When I did mine, 3 of the bolt heads twisted right off, so I ended up going to a shop and have them do it.

Damn I guess I'm lucky when I took mine off it wasn't so bad, it was a bitch getting the exhuast manifold off though. I'm glad I got rid of that heatshield it always rattled. I sprayed a lot of WD40 on the bolts b4 I took em off also. I would suggest if you can, get a drill and try to dril through the srew until it collapses.

Yeah drilling through the bolt is a good idea. I don't think you really need the stupid heat shield for anything but if you use a drill bit thats just a little smaller in diameter than the bolt you will probably be able to save the hole and re-instal the shield.

I decide to cut the heat shield with a hack saw..and take it to the shop to torqe off the bolts to the cat. Worked like a charm :).. so the Greddy Headers are on now. but one of the holes in the very middle (Next to the one with the black bar attached) seems to have broke off all the thread so i have a missing bolt.

I don't really see the point of puttin' the heat shield back on and hidin' a great set of Greddy headers. Besides, the shop said the heat shield may rattle a helluva lot after it's re-installed.

Not the bolt to the heat shield but from the header to the engine. The Shield is bent to shit and cut up. besides i didn't see anty where to bolt the shield back on anyway
