52962, AEM v2 cold air intake... Posted by rAySaUcE, Jun-10-03 01:02 PM
I'm new to 2gnt so don't get mad if this is not in the right place. Have you all heard of the v2 intake. Well they say that its only for manual transmission only. Do you think that i can put it in my automatic. It shouldn't matter because the transmission doesn't affect the intake, right. Thanks.

i think it might be because the V2 intake is fatter than the original AEM CAI, i'm sure you could make it work but it might take alot. i have a MT so i can't say for sure. i would say just to be safe, get a CAI from www.meganracing.com they are exactly like the AEM (V1) but under $70 shipped.

I don't know why they said that about autos. I have a manual, mind you, but there is SO much clearance around the v2 it's not even funny. Unless the auto transmission extends another foot or so in front of where the manual goes, you won't have a problem IMO. this intake doesn't even rub against the battery tie down like other cai's I've seen. My guess is it will be okay, but I can't be for sure

The V2 fits fine in the autos. I got one, didnt know it said "manuals only" until too late, but the fitment on my automatic was just fine.
