i was wondering if i could get a duel cat back exhaust setup for the eclipse? ive seen it in pics and was wondering if there are any advantages besides looks to it and where i could get one?

also.. i'm not to clear on aftermarket exhausts, does it add horsepower or something (i'm going stage 2 hrc turbo if that helps with the image in your head...)

i'm not exactly an aftermarket expert myself, but exhausts DEFINITELY add extra hp, and if you also get a header added onto your exhaust system, that also adds on additional hp. as far as the dual exhaust setups, as far as i understand, this is no performance benefit to this. it is simply a regular aftermarket exhaust system with a converter splitting into two mufflers. if anyone else wished to correct me, please do, but that's as far as i understand.

I plan on doing the dual exhaust actually. When I have the money for it... have to get the bumper notched and a custom set up. A freer flowing exhaust is always good. I may not gain as much with the dual set up as a single, I'm still researching how exactly I want to do this. Because my ultimate goal is performance. But the only way to install a dual system is to get one custom made. No one make an after market kit for it. If you are curious on my set up, I'l be running 2.5" piping at least to the split, I may drop to 2.25" to each muffler, or keep 2.5" and I'm going to run Borla mufflers.

Pipe size and muffler type etc contr=ibute to power gain and in what rpm range. one set up may make more higher rpm power but at the expense of some low ent torque... which would make a good track set up since at the line is the only time you aren't in the rpm range, but you may not like that set up as much for a street application. So for a safe bet... buy a cat-back system.

besides the obvious size and noise, what would the difference be in 2.5" and 3" does the hp and torque differ?

As long as the car is Naturally Aspirated I wouldnt go over 2.5", picking the size of your exhaust piping depends on your horsepower goals. If you plan on having a turbocharged beast putting out 300+ horses then 3" is for you, but if plan on stayin below 300 it really isnt worth it you will make more power in the top end, but will sacrifice torque.

right now i'm saving for stage 2 hrc turbo (275 hp they say) and thats about all the performance upgrades i'm gonna do for a while (besides exhaust) but if i plan on going higher next year do you thinkn i should just stick with 2.5" ?

staying 2.5 won't hurt anything but if you wanna really help that turbo out than go bigger
