i would check the dual pressure switch, fin thermo sensor, and revolution pick-up sensor.

like juggalo said.... it also may just be time for you to recharge your ac system.. maybe you have no freeon (sp?)

The light is on steady, correct? If it is blinking, then there is either a belt problem or an electrical problem. Otherwise, I would say that you just need a freon recharge.

the light doesnt blink or anything. But why is it cold when i drive and then gets hot when i stop?I thought if i needed freon the ac would be that cold no matter if i was driving or not

Check your condensor(the radiator looking thing infront of the coolant radiator), to be sure that the fins are nice and clean, and not clogged up with dirt or anything. If it is dirty, clean it out. A/C systems dont generally need recharging, ever. If the freon level becomes low, then there is a leak somewhere. There is never a need to change out freon, its not like motor oil, it doesnt go bad. Also, you say your fan is on, but the passenger side fan should always be on whenever the A/C is on, so double check that. If all that is good, then either you have a A/C comressor issue, or a freon level/leak issue somewhere. Also, dont just go adding more R-134A(our freon) to the car, if you dont have any refridgerant gauges to monitor pressures in the system(got to take it to a shop).
