52490, low RPM 2-3k misfire in cylinder #2
Posted by robbain, Jun-02-03 09:17 PM
I took the car into the shop today and it seems that I have a misfire in cylinder #2 at low RPM's. I have noticed that when I try to accelerate at low RPM's like 2-3k, that it sputters, and it seems to idle a bit rough. Any ideas? Thanks.

I had the same problem. Try swapping your plug wires #2 to #3. If the misfire moves with the swap, it's more than likely your wires. Or, if your shop is gonna charge you to do that and test it out, just go to AutoZone and pick up a set of the Bosch wires for like $30 and take care of it. Good luck!

possibly a coilpack then. check out www.howellautomotive.com for a MSD or a Screamin Deamon one. I have the screamin deamon, and it helped the small about of studdering i had.

hey retard, you mean i had a problem and it came back... sorta. I just yanked off my cam sensor (its on the right side, closest to you if you face your car. and took some carb cleaner to it. put it back on, made sure my connection was ok. then, i took the little rubber hose that connects some of the egr stuff together, cut the hose into three pieces, and put the two end pieces back on with bolts on the ends to block it off. works so far. and then i pulled of my tb, and the iac motor. took carb cleaner to that, after i broke it and broke my seal as well.. so be carful when doing that. and my car seems to run ok. it might do it once every 3 or 4 days that i can notice. i also have new spark plug wires, accel thundersports and i bought some napa plugs a thousand mile or so ago. seem to work still. they are autolite somethin. but you should get some ngks. coil pack is next for me.
