52484, Best Hydrolic Jack 4 a Lowered Car?
Posted by J, Jun-02-03 07:48 PM
Like the subject says, I'm looking 4 another jack that can lift from as low as U can go. I've already gotta MVP ~2.5 ton & another 4 or 5 ton SUV/Truck jack, but I've gotsta get another 4 down here in FL...

SOoooooooooooooooooo, what's YOUR recommendation?

I'm tired of having 2 jack cars up 2x (once w/out block of wood, 2nd time w/). Also, I think I'm going 2 get me a pair of bottle jacks 4 side support.

Lemme know, thanx!

That's a prety niffty jack, kinda Xpensive though (understandable). U notice any twisting of the jack itself under weight, due 2 B'ing aluminum? I sometimes leave my car jacked up 4 long periods of time, just want 2 make sure it won't twist. Just curious, very nice though. HMmmmmmmmmmmmm, just noticed that shipping is free, that's nice I suppose, how long did it take 4 U 2 receive it?

Any more recommendations? I'm looking 4 options I can choose from. I'd say I might go w/ something like that (or that) 4 $150 just Bcause, but anything Cheaper? Would still have 2 wait 4 it 2 come in. Anything U guys like/use mayB @ a national chain store of some kind?

P.S.
I'm looking 4 Quality, Price, & Availability.

Thanx 4 your suggestions!

i bought a 3 and 3/4 ton jack from sams club for like 70 bucks. it doesnt twist but i cant really fit it under my bumper or sides without first jacking it up a little with another small jack. that jack is solid, i left my car on it for three days and it will pick up the whole car if you place it right and hold it from tipping over. :)

Yeah, I'm looking 4 a jack that doesn't make me jack the car 2x... rather annoying IMO. That's my #1 criteria. What else?

Thanx,

hey if you want a cheap alternative, cuz that lightweight jack still hits the pinch rail if you go anymore than two inches down. just drive up on a 2x4 or some phone books so it raises your car about an inch or two. and then you can go buy one of those cheap hydro jacks for like 40-50 bucks:D just a suggestion

Well HMmmmmmmmmmm, I'll go by Sears 2 check them out. Very cute Mike, LOL..... how's life, wanna buy my house? (still 4 sale)

Tyr420a, that's pretty slick, never thought of that... great idea! :thumbsup

I'm needing the jack 2 work on a 95 Pontiac GrandPrix SE whose frame actually reaches lower than our Eclipsi suprisingly. Got some brakes & tie rods 2 replace. BUT, I'm still buying the jack w/ Xpectations 2 lower my Eclipse MINIMUM 2" w/ my Shunk2's, which I've been sitting on 4 a long while trying 2 save up 4 some Koni Yellow's.

Any other jack suggestions w/ the triangle type design of the 1st recommendation as opposed 2 the usual MVP El Cheapo Highos? I 4get, what R shocks U can use w/ Shunk2's (1's w/out the perch) Bsides Koni (as in cheaper, tired of B'ing so high off ground)?

Thanx, good idea!

The best thing Ive found is just to buy 2 ramps from Pep Boys ($14.99) and back your car up onto the ramps... Then the front on ure car will be high enough for u to jack up each side, and the back will already be up like 4 inches or so... Gives me PLENTY of room to get up and under my car with no problems... Trust me, my car is low as balls and this seems to work wonders for me... :thumbsup

Yeah, I've never thought of the ramps/blocks 'o wood idea... makes sense & worx 2 I C. Good alternative 2 the 2x Jacking (1x ramps, 1x jack).

SOOooooooooooooooo, I guess what U R all saying is that outside of say a $150 jack... best bet is 2 get ramps or continue jacking up 2x. HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, gonna have 2 think about this 1. That 1st jack loox pretty, gotsta thinx about if it's worth the Xtra $$$.

I'll let U know, in the mean time... if any1's got anything else/left 2 add, I'm all ears.

Thanx,
