Im thinking about installing the HI-6DI2 with the MSD oem style coil pack. Does this use bypass the stock ignition system? does it stop the ECU from controling spark timing? This is my daily driver so i dont want to go too crazy, but im runing 12 psi of boost on it with a stock ignition system right now. I know the ecu will advance timing like 40 digrees under normal crusing to conserve gas. I just dont want to loose the daily drivability by installing a new ignition system. thanks!

What that ignition is, is an ignition amplifier. It generates a greater spark energy and at lower rpms holds the spark for a longer duration than stock to burn fuel better than stock ignition. It will not effect your timing unless you want it to. You can get an ignition retard module that can retard ignition timing, but it doesn't have to. There would be no problems, a lot of cars use CD boxes on daily drivers. I have for some time, only benefits nothing bad.

No worries, it will not hurt your driveability. The ECU will still control the timing and all of that, the ignition will just add some extra unph to it. It will also give you 2 rev limiters and some other cool functions.
