Hello guys.
As most of you know, I began my engine rebuild since yesterday.
Here is what I did up to now ok.

Day One (Friday)
1) I drain the engine oil, and coolant
2) remove the battery, and it's tray
3) remove the fan
4) remove the exhaust manifold
5) clean up all electric wires around the engine
6) remove the coolant metal hose around the engine (front)
7) took off the power steering
8) took off the AC compressor
9) remove the coil and plug wires
10) remove all wires and hose (PCV) on Value cover
11) unscrewed the valve cover screws

Day Two (Saturday/today)
1) remove the valve cover (temporary, back now)
2) unscrew the 10 head-block screw
3) remove the engine mount (the one next to the power steering)
4) remove both engine under cover (the plastic thing)
5) loosen the generator's screw (less tension on the belt)
-----PROBLEMS STARTS HERE, LIKE HELL-----
6) unscrew all bolts on Tranny's oil pan (IT STILL WON"T COMES OFF)
7) unscrew the crank pulley nut (sigh.... my hell begins below)
8) I use the 3 arm-puller on the crank pulley to remove it (HELP)

NOW... the above.... THE TWO THING I JUST CAN"T DO!!!
AND BTW, I worked from 9AM to 6PM today, IN THE RAIN, and I STILL CAN"T TAKE THE ENGINE OUT... why!!! Coz I can't remove the pulley, I am so damn pissed!!!! NOT PISS"ED", STILL PISS!!!

Anyway, I REALLY NEED HELP, what did I missed or have to do to remove the crank pulley? I put like half a bottle of WD-40 on it.

OK, the reason is, I want to remove the head, but the head is contrainted by the timing belt and the timing cover, but to remove the timing cover, I have to take off the crank pulley.. CORRECT??

BUT HOW? I used the puller to try to take off the crank pulley. I MADE SURE all 3 arms are firmly touching the back of the crank pulley, and guess what? I keep turning, and the center screw (use to push the pulley out) BENTED, it's like a J shape... WHAT THE FUCK...and the crank pulley is still in there as a ROCK..

DID I MISSED SOMETHING??? help!!
also, for the tranny oil pan, how do I take it off????
HELP!!! PLEASE GUYS.
HELP ME> tomroorw is Sunday, and I still didn't get my engine out yet!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME WITH WHATEVER YOU CAN!!
Gil

u might need to heat up the pulley and the end of the crank and use an air gun to break it loose....

jeez dude that sucks. Try heating up the pulley with a torch or something then use a 5 ton pulley puller i bleive.

I assume you have a auto since you want to get the drain pan off?? well i can't help you with that one. sorry

edit: motofool beat me to it.

When using the puller what are you pushing against? You need to be pushing against the pulley bolt, or use a different puller that comes with an insert that slides inside where the pulley bolt came out.

What kind of puller are you using? 5-ton? After I removed the bolt, I borrowed a longer bolt from the frame of my dad's truck, stuck it in there and used the 5-ton puller I got from Autozone. I guess I was lucky cause mine came off pretty easy. After you do that, good luck getting the mounting bracket out... that's where I'm stuck right now, hehe.

SUp man, I got the bracket out. you mean the engine mount bracket right?
I just need to get the timing belt off, and to do that, I need to get the pulley out.

PLEASE GUYS.... help me.
My car is outside in the rain, and it's all jacked up and all fucked up.... I NEED THE ENGINE TAKEN OUT BY TOMORROW>>> I JUST HAVE TO, or I will just have to get a tow truck and get it tow, and waste fucking TONS of $$$ to get a garage to do it, and also wasted my 2 days of time.

THANKS GUYS... I really need help..
God, I feel so hopeless after today man.
.... sigh..x(

HAAHAA>.. you won't believe it,
I spent total of 2 hours to that that STUPID 2 bolts out.

I use my TWO FREAKING finger, squeeze my hand into it, and SLOWLY move the nut out after using a tool to loosen it.
TOOK ME 2 hours for that shit man.
But then again, took me 5 hours... AND I STILL CAN"T TAKE THE PULLEY OUT.

How you did it, did you removed the belt first, then take out the crank pulley? or ????

BTW GUYS.. please tell me, DO I NEED TO TAKE OFF THE CRANK PULLEY FIRST, before I can take off the timing belt cover???? PLEASE AGAIN... HELP ME....!!!!!!!
I really don't want my car to get towed for...so close to be done!!!

Gil.. :wary

Yeah, you need to remove the crank pulley off so you can take the cover off and access the tension adjuster. Even if you tear the cover off, the pulley's gonna be blocking the tension adjuster.

Sorry I don't know who else to help you... the puller bolt bent?? You might wanna try a larger puller... even if it means breaking the pulley. Or you can try drilling some holes in the pulley and using a harmonic balancer puller. Good luck dude, don't give up!

I'm guessing from what you've written that the crank puller bolt is bent. So that is the first thing that you should replace. Get a bigger puller with no air tools you'll need it. 2nd the crank pulley is almost pressed on ... you have to heat it up and then beat on it with a 2X4 and a hammer just to get it on far enough so that the threads on the crank pulley bolt will start to thread in. That being said you can imagine how tight its on there. Now if you want to get it off and you have heat it up with a torch ... this way the pulley will expand and it will make it easier to use the puller and get off the crank pulley.

I've never had very much problems taking off the crank pulley. Stock or otherwise. I've also never had to do it without an impact.

HI, I think you got it wrong.
The bolt for the crank pulley is out, and it's not bent.
The bolt that I said was bent was the bolt ON THE 3-arm Puller, the center bolt that was bent.

About heating the pulley, should I do it when I put the crank pulley bolt back in? or what?

Thanks.

Umm ... isn't that what I said. "I'm guessing from what you've written that the crank puller bolt is bent." Keyword there being "puller" and not "pulley". Anyways, the cutting the timing belt part would work except for the fact that the rear cover for the timing belt would still be on. It's got 2 mount points on the head and 2 on the block if I remember correctly. You could break that since its just plastic but I don't know how easy that is. For the heating bit I wouldn't put the crank pulley bolt back in until after you've heated it some. You don't want to not be able to handle that nor do you want it to expand (not that it would to the point where it would matter anyways).

Ahh. You need to get a longer bolt that has the same thread and pitch as the original bolt. Screw that back into the crank and use it as the resting point for the puller bolt. If you put the puller bolt directly onto the pulley, the pulley will never come off and you'll bend puller bolts.

This suggestion may sound a bit backwards. Try taking one of the cam pulleys off. You should be able to get the head off then.

Yea, If you haven't replaced your timing belt recently, just take a scissors and cut it. Then you can just take the block to a garage and have them pull the pully off for a few bucks under the table. If you do that you can get the head off with no problems. Or, like Jim said, if you can get a cam gear off, you can get the head off. The only thing is that if you do it this way, make sure that you have access to a good sized vice to compress the tensioner plunger for when you put the timing belt back on.

You did pull the crank bolt most of the way out, right? The only reason that I can think that a puller would bend it's centre-bolt would be if the pulley was still bolted in place... Please tell me that it isn't...
Pulley bolt must be out all of the way, and turned back in, like, 2 turns. Then you can pull on it with the puller, which really needs to be a 5 tonne puller. Once the pulley is touching the bolt, loosen the crank bolt until it is sitting on the top threads, and use the puller again. At this point, you should be able to get a small prybar in there, and go back and forth with it until the pulley pops off.
Best of luck,
