52185, 2g N/T Engine Replacment with Turbo AWD, help!?
Posted by exzombie, May-30-03 11:49 AM
I have an oppertunity to buy a 2g Turbo engine w/43k, from a '95 AWD DSM, now I want to put this into my '95 Talon. My talon is non turbo so is this gonna screw up my tranny? Will it even match up to my stock trans? Please, someone reply to this or better yet, E Mail me at: exzombie@excite.com
BTW, I'm replacing my engine cause it has 150k on it and is about to blow a water pump, so I figured might as well replace the engine since looks like I can get it for $750
Thanks, Laterz!

Nah man you cant do that. The cost to power ratio would sky rocket your wallet to Planet XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX1.

Get another 420a, and turbo that. It will be MUCH cheaper than buying that 4g63 engine out of the turbo. You'd have to 1)fabricate like fabric softener. 2)Have to get a GS-T/X tranny. 3)Get all the electricals.

bottom line, dont do it:). Its not worth your hard earned (or not hard earned) money and time.

um just to let you know your water pump only cost $35 or so from checkers and hes right you cant bolt up those two well you could just buy a 1g awd car and youd be set

They are 2 different engines so nothing will bolt up. Replace the water pump for now, mileage does not matter, if it's running, it's running. Then if you want power you can go turbo and rebuild your block.

Forget about it.

Use the SEARCH button to research "4g63 in a 420a" if you need more of an explanation. Also, "Things We've seen Before" section will have a lot on the topic.
