first question...if you block off the egr system..do you have to run 92+ octane gas? I saw something on howells site and i was just wondering.

second question...where can i find a replacement clutch online for my 95 gs?

no you don't need to run 92 octane gas. i read something that said since most people buy the low and mid octane gas, the high octane gas tends to sit there so long it loses its effectiveness. don't know how true that is though.

and are you looking for a stock replacement or an aftermartket. and you need to know if your running a modular or nonmodular clutch. since your a 95 its probably a non-modular set-up

Acctually his clutch would prolly be a modular clutch. My 95 Talon was and so was Dino's. He said he had not seen a 95 with a non mod that was not an add on.

Im just looking for a stock replacement clutch or something close to that. I dont have very many mods, i just want something that will launch from the line like a mofo.

unless you have a turbo or nitrous you shouldn't run lean at all. i have mine blocked off and still run really rich

Yeah, mine's blocked and with my new exhaust I can smell the gas when my car is running.

actually is the opposite your runnin richer now as the air/fuel ratio isnt being diluted by inert gas (EGR gas is inert and will not burn)

Ok, great topic.. I tried to do this a while back.. and failed misserably. How do you block off your egr?? I fabribated a metal plate, and slid it back behind the intake manifold, where the egr line comes into my intake, and i blew a ton of smoke out my tail pipe.. i switched it back to the way it was.. and the smoke went away.. but it was very scary. I later found that i had a faulty head gasket, and had problems w/blowbye. I haven't tried the egr thing since, can you blame me?

So how is it, that you guys block off u'r egr?

octane doesn't improve performance, it helps reduce premature detonation. that's why we are supposed to run Regular from the factory, since we are not forced induction, there is no need for a slower burning gas (yes higher octane burns SLOWER than lower octane gas) also running higher octane in our engines leaves a lot of unburnt gas in the exhause which will eventually clog the cat.
