OK after reading through abunch of other post i still couldnt find what i needed. OK here is my problem my car goes from 1000 to 1500 rpms. Its constant doing this and i can get it to stop. I checked and there are no vacum leaks so ne help would be much appreciated.

when you changed the ends of the IAC you reinstalled it in a differnt position that it originally was. you can take your car to pepboys and they will reset it for $50 or you can disconnect the battery for a while to reset the ECU. but you need to let it idle for about 20-30 minutes afterwards and your idle still won't be completely right until the ECu remaps the fuel curve.

Who did u buy your jeep TB from?? Or did u make it on your own?

My car has been sitting for about 5 months waiting on a new tranny with no battery. So when it was down i did the jeep tb. So i just need to let it sit at idle for about 20-30 minutes and it will be alright or is something else i should do?

I have the same problem, did the Jeep TB today and now my car is idling around ~2000RPM. The butterfly is closing nice and the cable in good but it is idling very high...

If its a constant high idle then most likely it's a vacuum leak.

I have determined it to be one of two things

1. Vacuum Leak - how can i find where it is if this is the case?

2. IAC position - I am not positiove that this is "exactly" in the same position that it was on the 2gnt TB setup. Is there a way to reset the ECU and remap the fuel/air based on its new position?

i just posted about this in the general section and since i fixed it. my rpms would go down to lek 1100 then jump back to like 1700 and idle jumpy, and sometimes it would just stick at like 2000, i figured out when it stuck the plate wasnt closign totally so i put an extra spring on and that cleared that up but for the jumpy rpms that was the iac i had it open to far so i closed it as much as i could(by closing it i mean unscrewing the piece in it) now my car idles at 800 and the rpms drop right away afer i let off the gas. the only thing is when i go to start the car i have to give it allittle gas cuz i prob closed it to far but better that than have jumpy rpms and high idle.

First make sure its not at the butterfly valve. Start the car - open the hood - rev it by hand - then close the throttle by hand. Is it idling normally with you holding the throttle closed. If it is then you need more spring tension. I put a little helper spring on my TB recently cause the single Jeep spring just wasn't enough(after months of being ok).

If thats not the source of the leak - I would suspect the secondary idle hole - the one that you should have covered up with a button plug or something like that. Make sure that that hole is completely sealed.

If that looks ok - then make sure that the TB gasket is doing its job and gives a good seal. Look closely at where the gasket comes into contact with the plug you used to cover the idle port. If you used a plug like I did - the gasket surface isn't exactly flat in that area. Make sure that it seals around there.

If you put in the exact same position then I don't think it'll be an issue.

Well guys thamks for the help! I think I got it! I beleive my gasket material and bolt torque didnt quite make par and there was vacuum leak. My second problem is (I haven't fixed it yet) is the butterfly isn't closing at no throttle. Thus i need a tighter spring....

Any feedback would be great but im sure i will come up with something.

I smushed the two springs from my stock tb on to the jeep and it closes just fine. Give it a shot they fit.
