Somebody told me that there is a plug that is on the back of the block that I can tap my temp gauge to, where is it? It's getting dark, and I can't see it from the top. Do I have to remove the intake? Also, can anybody tell me what the regular dummy temp sender thread pitch is so I can go get a tap? Thanks!

What is the dummy temp sender? The plug in the above post is 1/4 inch npt. These guys helped alot with my install.:thumbsup

Dummy gauge is what I refer to the gauge inside the dash. I saw that post and I still can't tell what cylinder it's behind. Can you give me a location in reference to oil pressure sender?

It is on the back side of the motor second cylinder from the right. It is up kinda high and you will see two wiring harnesses right near it. I believe it is a 14mm nut. With a flashlight you shouldn't miss it. There is a big freeze plug right next to it. Hope this helps!

You have to get to it from underneath the car and be careful when you take it off, I got drenched with antifreeze!:thumbsup

Yeah found it and let the river flow. I had to go get a fitting for my autometer sender and the fitting only lets about a 1/4" of the sender exposed to the water. I think it should be OK, but anybody think different? I can cut some threads off the fitting if need be.

I just went and bought a brass fitting extension for it. The extension's inside wasn't wide enough for the probe so I just drilled it out. It all worked out in the end! Good luck!:thumbsup

Last temp question. What do you guys get for a reading on your aftermarket gauges when it's warmed up? I've been getting 190-210 and tad higher if it sits and idles. 190 I can live with, but 210 seems a little high. Maybe too much water and not enough antifreeze mix? It seems like the car warms up a little too fast and I flushed out the block with my hose and just added antifreeze.(Pretty lazy, but I was tired) There isn't that much antifreeze in the car. It does seem like I did fix my missing coolant prob though. To anybody who wants to hook up an aftermarlet temp gauge, DO NOT USE A "T"!!!! Put it in the back of the block, my readings are like twice as acurate now.

it'll run a little hotter if you don't have a 50/50 mix. 210F is about normal. if you car has been idling with the a/c on it can go up to 240F.

OK, the dummy gauge was moving up on idle when it tries to get past 210. It wasn't trying to overheat or anything, but that's one less thing I want to worry about. I was just tapping the gas last night to keep the water pump moving around and the temp came right down. I may just drain some water out of the rad and add some more coolant. Thx.

if you use high pressure carwashes you gotta make sure not to spray it in the big ho in the front bumper cause you'll bend up the fins on the A/C condensor and their won't be much flow to the radiator
