alright i plan on going with a forged rod+piston setup. using 10.5 compression pistons and HRC stage 2(stage 3?) if i used those pistons with crane 14's and like 5-7psi what kind of power do you think i would be getting. only other mods are 2.5"exhaust and possibly an SAFC for tuning.
i'm asking because i remember hahn saying our OE crank is good to 300HP about. i don't want to mess up a brand new motor ya know.
EDIT oh yeah and a fuel system to accomodate the high compression and boost.

the oe crank is good for more that 300 hp, hahn's stage five turbo makes about 475 hp on the oe crank.

Yeah stock crank can hold more than 300hp.
Why not lower? Because higher compresion gives better power through out the rpm range, better low end grunt (torque), it's the only way I would turbo.

i would go with 16s-18s cams, to actually utilize that high comp flow.... but as for the setup listed above 225-250ish to the wheels i would say..

yeah i'd rather have the high comp and low boost so i can get up and go and not have alot of lag. plus i don't have the money to turbo right away. it would suck not boosting on 9:1 pistons.
225 to the wheels sounds great for that low PSI. would fuel system issues come into play? what kind of things would you guys think would work. i'm thinking a bigger intank pump and larger injectors would work for a bit. SAFC and all.

bump. and if i went 16's would there be any adverse affects while turbo'd vs. the 14's. would the adverse affects be negligable because of the low psi i'd be running?
still curious about the fuel system. would i need an absolute bulletproof setup or could i do intank pump SFMU larger injectors and/or an SAFC?

If you are gonna be putting 225ish on the ground, I'd say get the 16's.

why go 16's over turbo grind cams if i plan on boosting? i've heard alot of people on here say this and it somewhat confuses me. i thought the added lift was for for turbo applications or something like that.

boost and 10.5 comp. sounds really nice but you may have issues with detonation if you live in a hot and/or humid area:thumbsup

be careful with that high comp.
I'd only run very little boost daily, then raise it carefully with 100+ octane race gas for track day.

yeah i don't plan on doing more than 7PSI. my theory is the inverse of the usual low compression high boost theory. i'm sure i'll run into some of the same situations as the high boost theory people just at lower PSI. this is why i'm asking about fuel systems.
would it be wise to say that i'll need a stage3-stage4 esque fuel system. intank and inline pumps 440's SAFC and SFMU.

that fuel system sounds good, no adverse effects that ive heard of about goin with 16s rather 14s. more aggressive and a little better spool.
