51528, The wrong oil pan gasket...I think
Posted by euro_clipse, May-20-03 10:33 PM
Hey all, question for you. I just got back from Spain yesterday (suckas!) and picked up an oil pan gasket set I had ordered for the car. On the back before I opened it, I noticed it says Chrysler Product, 2.0 SOHC Engine, 1995-98. So I'm tinking they got me the wrong damn one, but wanted to see if you guys know for sure, cuz this is most likely for the 420A engine, but for the Neon.
Part number is OS 30673 R
Thanks

Edit: Just checked online and it shows the same thing for eclipse GS and Eagle Talons, so it must be right...

The bottom end gaskets are the same from the SOHC to the DOHC, so those gaskets will work.

51542, Low temp thermostat?

I don't think you should be losing any fluid man... thats a big problem -- the coolant system -- should be a closed system - if you are losing coolant somethings got to be up.

On a side bar -- how about a lower temp thermostat? I don't know where to get it -- someone please advise as I would like one too -- thanks.

Howell Automotive. Might be under the Neon section if they haven't put it under the DSMs. Just remove the rubber gasket for the Neon andget a factory paper gasket and install.
