If any of you guys can help me it would be appreciated. I recently did alot of mods to my engine while replacing a clutch. After getting my idle set right and taking it for a spin, it has a problem when I step on the gas. It wants to bog out the more I push the pedal in, then finally when its almost flat it will take off. Any ideas? Could it just be a sensor or something with my computer? Any help would be great, thanks. The mods are JE pistons, Eagle rods, Crane cams, AEM CAI, ported intake/head, AF/X underdrive pulley, Fidanza adjustable cam gears, HP Racing header, and some other minor things. Thanks guys!

what kind of sparkplugs are you using?

It could be the ECu trying to learn your new mods. Did you get CEL after any of this?

I have Accell plugs. Do you think I should check the gaps? I reset the computer with the ignition on and I haven't had any CEL's yet. Thanks for the quick responses.

I'm running accell plugs now, so I doubt that. Check your wires, ohm tem out if you have a multimeter. And give it a couple days to adjust to everything you've done (if you haven't already), and to see if the ECU picks up a CEL.

What cams?
What compression ratio pistions?
What is your fuel system set up?

I have Crane # 10 cams, the pistons are JE 8.4:1 setup for turbo hopefully soon. And my fuel system is basically stock. Could this be the problem? Should I get bigger injectors, maybe replace the fuel filter? Thanks...

I'll bet you are bogging out because of too much fuel. Lower compression will slow you down. The ECU will want to add fuel because of the cams. You could be running really rich, do you have an A/F gauge?

I don't have a A/F gauge yet. I will pick one up soon though. Is there anything else I can do awhile? Do you think any of the sensors would be bad or anything?

It's possible, If you are looking for things to check in the mean time. Pick up a chilton's manual and get the tests for the various sensors and run them through it. MAP, TPS, O2 sensors... I could see say a bad MAP sensor causing this kind of grief.

Check the coilpack. I had similar symptoms a while back and that turned out to be my problem.

I have a new MSD coil pack so that shouldn't be the problem. I have good news though. I replaced the TPS and now she runs 95% smoother. I think I will replace the IAC and the 02 sensor yet and see what happens. Thanks for all your help guys!
