OK, anyone wanna guess before I dig into it if the Timing Belt(which only has about 30K on it) or the pulley let go....I know it's kinda hard to see, but I haven't been able to rip into it since the rain started falling n not to long after I got her off the flatbed.....





I'm thinking it might well be the pulley since it is only about a 1/4" below the exhaust cam gear......either way it's gonna need a new belt now and who knows how many valves. The cams are about 90 degrees off from each other right now. FUN FUN.....

damn i feel your pain. the guy that did mine for got to tighten up the tensioner pulley and my belt slowly ate itself away. needless to say, he didn't make the same mistake twice.

Yeah, I know the tensioner pulley was put on right, guessing that it let loose due to age and abuse if that is what it ends up being. It's been good since we rebuilt the head in September so I know it was on right, not to mention the guy that did it is very thorough and knows the 420A like the back of his hand. Oh well, the only thing I didn't replace when the head was redone was the valves so looks like I have an excuse for some SS ones now...:thumbsup
