just wondering were people are with this and whats new with it? which one would be better? manifold is my next must do however i already have a 55mm tb but am thinking of doin 60, u think i would notice that much diffrence with a ported manifold.......:thumbsup

It's a very debated issue.

55mm is suppose to flow the most optimal cfm, but while technically 60mm's are suppose to slow airflow down significally (same reason having too wide of an exhaust is bad), it seems nominal.

What's going to make the difference is your cams, if you have bigger cams that can take advantage of the additional flow and MAYBE a mild port on the head, you can keep a good velocity for the air and get good gains. An open exhaust with a good header would also make it better. Efficiency is what makes it on NA cars, thats why cams are so important to be matched to the system. I think the #16 or 18 cam from Crane is what your looking for to go with that and you should be pushing a lot of air through that sucker. Get cam gears to fine tune and possibly an S-AFC and something to advance timing like the AFX and you'll have nice power on that little 4 banger. Doubtful you'll ever see 14 second 1/4 but it will be more liveable then the 140 horse plodder you started with.

The 55mm TB is nice, the 60mm I think can be helpful with enough mods... as for me... Quad TB.

Well then I guess you should sell me you 55mm TB!

cams are in my future, stage 1 oe 2 not sure yet bnut nothin more cause i do not have any ecu options......i guess 55 will be it for me......anyone who has 60 with a matched inlet on manfiold wanan clarify some things?:thumbsup

what about for forced induction. bleh I got done hand porting my TB and its still 52mm hehe but its way wider than it was b4. Hope it helps can't afford a nice one :( and I don't think the jeep one with fit with my neuspeed bar.

I need to finish the quad TB set-up efore I pull the 55mm TB off.

For turbo, I'd say the 60mm TB definately has it's advantages in the high end. It more depends on the power band you wat to tune too, and the rest of your set up.
