If i buy a cold air intake thats not carb approved, does that mean i won't pass smog? I love in california and its pretty strick. I was just wondering whats the big deal about being carb approved?

Yup, you need a 50 state legal CARB certificate/sticker for any part to add, California is the worst for inspections.

And from what I hear that sticker doesn't mean shit if your inspector is an asshole.

Shop around! it pays to do so, i found a great place (smogbusters) that allowed me to complete the smog test with my CAI, i have no carb sticker, they told me as long as all emmisions hookups are present ie:pcv to intake, egr, and as far a exhaust goes they said as long as the CAT. was present. Good luck... CARB SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
