ok i have one and its gonna be installed soon (i hope) but i have a few questions for everyone that already has it first. i wanna know whats causing this squeeling shit so here goes.

1. does it squeel?
2. how long have you had it on?
3. did you put it on yourself?
4. did you heat it to put it on?

i've had it for 18 hours, it does not squeal, i put it on in 2 1/2 hours, buy a 3 inch M12 bolt and some washers to install it (press it in place) i heat it but it did no good, i used a propane torch too,

I've had it on for a while I need to retension the belts I have a little squeal, and plenty of room left to adjust out if I remember so I should be good.

And SEA97GS... no no no no no no... don't use a propane torch on aluminum!!! You run a risk of warping the pulley of you don't heat it evenly.

Not a problem. I know how mornings are without caffine!!!

Doing the motor mount tonight. Tried doing it over the weekend and didn't have the right socket. :( And I also don't have anything to support the tranny with, so I'm going to a friends house. I'll report if this helps 1/4 times cause I'll be at the track a couple times this week.

I've still got the MSD sitting in a box in the laundry room due to no time either. I'm going to take that to a mechanic friend of mine to install. I'm not good with electronics and don't really feel like frying something if I don't have to. I know it's pretty straight forward, but I have no comfort level with it.

I've had mine for about 2 months. It does squeak a little bit, but I also know that the adjustments for the accessories are maxed out. That tells me that the belts that come with the kit are a little long. That can easily be fixed.

As for time wise.....couldn't tell you. The timing belt was getting installed at the same time so all those parts had to come out anyway. Probably 4 hours total. No heat was needed to install the piece either.

So far this year, I've averaged about .15 faster in the 1/4 mile. I've already been in the 15s 4 times this year. Barely, but still 15s. The time below is from '99 when the motor was newer and had more power.

I used a cheap old toaster oven to install my afx pulley. I used an 100ft extension had the oven right next to the car. I then turn on the oven to 500 degrees set the timer to 1 hour then viola "ready to install pulley". I used a some cheap leather gloves and couple of oven mitts to install the pulley. The pulley slide in VERY easy.... Wait for the pulley to cool than install the belts.
I also adjusted the P/s pump to its mAx height than ajusted the tensioner till the belts were taut.(about 1/2" deflection) same for the alternater.
So far its been about 1week + ,Ive tested thru 2 heavy rains, mud,spilled about 1qt of power steering fluid on the belts (don't ask), radiator fluid (busted hose) and about 1000 miles of interstate hi spped usage. so far no sqeeks. Basically i'm just checking the tension on the belts and ajusting as needed.
--For the toaster,i just washed it and used to cook a tv dinner later that night.

Forget the pulley, I want one of those toasters! :P

I've had mine for about a month now.....p/s and ac belt is sqeeking like a mother, I can't stand it anymore. I've adjusted it about three times and doesn't help....cheap Bando belt I think. I'm changing it out Sunday.

Had a shop do it and they used a harmonic balancer installer device thingie. Anyway I don't really notice it there anymore but my tension pulley on my accesory belt is squeaking and I need to replace it. Mine came with some big ass belts that I later changed to some smaller Goodyear belts which gave me plenty of room to adjust the tension on the alternator. I'm pretty sure the belts aren't the ones that are causing the squeak it's that damn tension pulley, when I squirt it with belt dressing the sound muffles.
