I know this is posted alot, but I wanna get you guys opinion this one. I need to change my headgasket on my '99 GS. I've heard some outrageous prices for having this done, $800-1000 if I remember correctly. After talking with the local Mitsu dealer, they're going to replace my headgasket and all the other necc. gaskets, the water pump, and timing belt for $575, that's the total price including labor. My best friend is the head mechanic so that's why it's so cheap. Is this a good price? It seems really good to me, but what to you guys think.

Also, he said it won't take him but about 4 hours to complete it, that seems really fast to me??

The timeframe does seem quick, You can do it faster with a lift, and extra hands, so that helps, but by yourself in the garage you are looking at about a day. But I suggest getting the head to the machine shop to have it cheaned and checked, before reinstall. The price isn't far off from what I've heard from others.

But think of the mods you put on while you are inthere if you did t yourself... But this is provided you have the right tools and knowledge. Or you'll sp
