I don't know if there's a difference so I need to find out before I try to sell mine. I got the one from obd-2.com

They can use the same logger. I've used my friend's logger and he has a 4g63. Both ECU's are OBD II

Yes they are both OBD 2 but there are three different program stylkes of OBD 2.
Bottom line yes they will work. But the OBD software for say a Chevy is different than chrysler. But chrysler and mitsubishi are the same.

I have a laptop and two different datalogging programs installed on it. What else do i need to datalog. I thought I only needed the cable, but someone told me I need the cable that goes from the laptop to some type of "isolator" device, then another cable to go from that to the car's computer. Is that true?
