I was driving a eclipse GST is it just me... or is this the only eclipse GST that goes to 130 mph in 3rd gear??? its all stock too i even looked at it myself. stock turbo n everything.. anyone have any clue on this??? info? thx

Maybe the automatic, but not the manual. That just doesn't sound right. Are you sure you weren't in 5th?

yup i'm sure that i was on 3rd gear, cause right when i started to turn to merge on the highway.. the turbo boosted up and on third gear, when i barely signaled into the highway, i was going 125 already, on 3rd gear. i'm sure of this.(and its manual)

speedo wasnt fucked up, i passed them by like i would pass people riding bikes, bam whoosh, gone!

First off -- the GST is speed limited cause of its tires -- I don't remember what the limiter is but its pretty close to 120 ish -- you must be driving the only GST which can do 125 in 3rd.... 100 maybe -- but those would be some really tall gears --- and you would never have to leave 3rd gear -- your rpms at 60 would be like 2k or something...

Take the car out again...if it works again -- well buy it.

is it possible to take the governor off? (just curious, dont' actually own a GST and in all likelyhood, would never drive past 115 anyways. Anything past 100 is ridiculously fast/dangerous)

yes, you can remove the speed limiter. it involves removing or adding a resistor.

i did hit 125 mph in 3rd gear, i'll ask my friend if i can tape it n uplod it into the net. oh yeah i took it to 7 1/2 k rpm. even tho it redlines 7, on his eclipse the red started at 8. so i dunno, i'l try to tape it tho
