Im having a problem(who would have thought) and the car is ticking. The only time the car ticks is when its in gear and im accelerating. Only thing is at WOT the ticking goes away. First thing i thought was a bent valve, but it doesnt have that tapping sound. This is hard to explain but i honestly dont know what it is. This started after i removed the egr and bored the tb. any help??

How could the egr cause an exhaust leak? I blocked off the egr at the head and directly on the intake manny.

the block off plate isn't sealing on the head.

Well im going to redo the seal on the side of the head for the egr blockoff. If it continues, i can do the work myself..but what am i going to need to replace rod bearings? How much am i going to have to spend?

i bought my rod bearings from mopar direct for 35 bucks and that's my total expense. It was fairly easy to replace them, and it cured my tick.

what exactly do i have to do to replace the bearings? Ive changed the headgasket and done the timing, so im not worried about breaking the motor down again. I would have to pull the oil pan, and drop the pistons out, but then what?
