What gears does everyone chirp their tires in?Also what rpms do you have to shift at to get them to chirp

in my crappy snow tires on 14's (Uniroyal TigerPaws), i can do a burnout through 1,2, and chirp em in 3rd, but with my Phantoms and 17's, chirp 2nd.

bone stock baby!!! with 159k miles... wonder how i'd do with less miles.

yeah, tigerpaws suck ass! tires break free in 2nd if i gun it. i lost to my friend in his jeep cause i sat there spinning them. got traction back in 1st, shifted to 2nd and lost traction, just spun them. i don't care for them, come on $45 each! the phantoms on the other hand.... $140 each!

i can burn up 2nd pretty good wth my 17's and decent traction tires, every now and then on a cool night while i'm on it hard i can chirp 3rd...

back on track...

i can BARELY chirp 2nd in my auto, and it has a lot to do with the surface im on. with really dark asphault, its easy; i just have to let off of the throttle completely right before the car shifts and then STOMP on it. the car kind of jolts forward and i can hear a slight "chirp". i remember when the parking lot at my old job got resurfaced...i could sit there and do full burnouts for a good 20 seconds or so becuse it was so fresh, LOL. i dod some crazy doughnuts and fishtales as well, it was so slick. }(

mine used to ALWAYS chirp in 2nd (manual) but either i'm getting used to driving the car or the constant dogging has burned up the clutch...

None... I'm auto and it sucks. Only time the tires have made noise is when I pulled the E-brake. Hehehehe.

before i took the car off the road, i could melt them down threw the top of 2nd, and burn the begining of third with 17s( racing rims). after the swap, i think 3rd gear traction will be a problem}(

well when I first put on my CM stage 4, I would do all 3 and a little of 4th and I'm not shitting you. Then tranny went boom. Now I only have balls to do 2 and maybe 3rd.

Holy shit something must be wrong with my car....clutch must be going out. I can burn out 1st, and squeal 2nd (not chirp), but third just lurches. Then again, I did just put new tires on....I don't know

yeah, my trans went also. but i went low on fluid so gears and bearings melted. not bad for 159k miles being the mileage for the first trans prob, huh?

i don't chirp. my car is too slow to chirp.

are you guy talking about when your racing someone and shift gears and the tires chirp or are you talkin about how many gears you can burn thru?

I can't chirp in any gear with all these damm mods, mabe its my 18's. I remember beating some 2000 Civic from a stop, the civic chirped going into second and I didn't and I even took it all the way to 7K rpms, but I still pulled ahead.

Chirping is stupid to do while racing. That means for that second you chirp the car is not going forward. I can't imagine your 18s being that much heavier than my 17s Abe, and I CAN chirp 2nd and HAVE chirped 3rd before. You've got at least 10 whp on me... (you ever figure out if that ECU is working??)

My tires don't chirp right now, they just get roasted because the tread is worn all the way out. I can spin the tires in 1st-4th and my car is only lightly modified right now.

I ordered some 17's w/ yokohama paradas over a month ago from Tenzo, and they are still on back order.

My steering wheel violently vibrates at high speed because of the freak patterns left on my tires from drifting.

I can spin through 1st (but thats not how you go fast) and chirp 2nd, and whenever im at the track and actually shifting as quickly as possible I can even chirp 3rd. This is with the stock clutch at 81,000 miles on it with my 17s.

my clutch has like 180,000 miles on it im pretty sure. when my tires were bald i could burn through 3rd and not move an inch now with new tires i can still burn 1st all day long and get a good squeel on 2nd and usually chirp 3rd. when racing though i try not to spin launching but always chirp second. i just loving hearing second chirp (my first 5 spd).

I can chirp third on 18's at 8psi, i did it at 5 pounds yesterday.

well lets start a chirp 3rd club!! LOL seems like every can chirp 3rd... i can with my spec stage 3 clutch and stock 14 inchers

some times i chirp 2nd if i gun it though first and shift quckly.

i remember when ppl used to give me shit for saying that i could chirp 3rd... i never thought too much of doin this since it don't make me any faster or anything...

why is that stupid???????? some people cant help it, you ever felt 16 psi's?? try spiking 16 pounds while racing, what am i supposed to let off the gas, so the turbo will loose spool and ill have to wait for it reach full boost again.:nono some people just have that brute WHP ;) but your, right, 18s shouldnt be a problem to spin over goin threw gears (speed shifting) I know on newer tires, theyll spin em over, but you will barely hear it....

I could very easily spin all through first and second, and get some noise out of 3rd as well. I could also spray in 3rd and spin like crazy. This was with 15" turbo probe wheels with BFG Comp TA's on them.

Yep I was there when KillHonda did some chirping. Dude your car is one of the best looking 95-96s I've seen. I will track those stock parts you need.

if i power shift i'll chirp 2nd every now and then (clutch abuse must be coming into play, also the new yokohama avs es100 225s vs the really really shitty tires(i think they were firestone firehawk 195s) i had on my 14's before that i could burn out with as long as i held the gas). but yeah chirping 2nd isn't nearly as frequent as before. i'm not in the 3rd chirp club but i'm mostly stock (and throwing out coolant from the bottom front of my car, gotta get under my car and fix that up along with some other things) i figure thats ok for 163k miles.

i can fairly easily chirp 2nd in my auto and today i tried it and they more than chirped they spun alittle but this was on a real hot and smooth surface
