If you search the topics in the trans forums, i know there was a good one about how to remove your axles. You dont have to take off the axle from the wheel hub either, you just disconnect part of your suspension. The axles like to be suddenly "popped" out, not pryed out either. The loosened suspension will give you enough room to pull the axle spline out of the tranny and set it aside.

Both. They're both connected to the trans, aren't they?

if you're not pulling the trans with the motor, you don't really have to remove either one.

Here is another link i was thinking about. Follow what Dino had posted, as thats how i did my axles. Be sure the pry bar is in a good spot, and wont damage anything, and just give it a good sudden burst of force, and it will pop right out. DONT pry on it. POP it out. Both mine came out on the first try doing it this way.
