Ok, I washed my car tonight and then took it out and opened it up pretty good. I took it up in both 2nd and 3rd gears to around 6500 and then coasted for a little and put it into 5th. When I came back to my neighborhood, I dropped it into third to make a turn...while half way through the turn I gave it a little gas and it stuttered a little and hesitated a little. Is it possible that I do have a valve spring that's getting ready to go on me...like Satan said???? Or is there something else that I should check into. It's not the first time I've noticed it....but now I'm getting a little concerned. Any help is greatly appreciated!!! tia!

around what rpm's where u at? I know i've seen alot of eclipse that when u are in a high gear with a low rpm it tends to jerk a little when u give it gas to go.

i think i was somewhere between 1700-1800 rpms.

Have u noticed this ne other times or just when ur in a low gear at high rpms

i mean high gear low rpms

i've just noticed it in a situation like tonight. i'm gonna have it out on the road a lot tomorrow, so i'll try and make a note of whenever it happens. thanks for your help so far!

ok its says u got new plugs and wires i would check to make sure that ur wires r away from ur sturt bar if u have one and also did u gap ur plugs to .050 "i think" Also make sure ur wires are pushed down over the plugs good. If u hear a clicking noise that is probably the sound of something arcing. IF u have this let me knw. My friends eclipse had the same problem and it ended up being that one of the wires the part that hooks over the end of the spark plug was moved some how and was causing it to arc somehow and causing his problem. With his u could hear a clicking noise so pop ur hood with it running and check to see if u hear nething. Also if u think it is arcing against something pop ur hood at night when is is solid black out and with the motor runnig see if u can see light under the hood.:thumbsup

I just went out and checked it, I definitely didn't see any light....but I might have heard some clicking. Did your friends have a fast and constant click or was it more sporadic and slow?

isn't a clicking sound what operating fuel injectors make when they are functioning correctly?



my car does the same thing up until 3000 rpm's. i also have a leaky HG, so my problem might be different than yours, mine is probably a loss of compression whereas your might be different
