I have the motor mount inserts in my car already but I am still experiencing lots of wheel hop so I am gonna take off and inspect every motor mount and then I figured while they are off, I could fill them like some of you have talked about. What exactly did you use to fill them? How did you do it? If the motor mounts aren't causing my wheel hop, what else could? Thanks guys.

Use 3M window weld. It's a polyurethane selant that is used when front windshields are installed. It's usually difficult to find but works wonders! Apply in thin layers and let harden between each layer. It's a long process... should take all day to completely fill/dry. Install them the next day and it's a whole new feel!

if u already of the motor mounts inserts u probably just need to fill in ur sides if that doesnt do the job u can buy solid motor mounts but i heard the vibration with those could drive u crazy.

get off the gas as hard.. if your not spinning the tires.. they won't hop.

I filled my side mounts. It took quite awhile to do. Probably off and on about 5 days.

Could you tell a big difference with the sides filled?

Wow. Old ass post. My original post said it took 5 days to cure. I found out i was using the wrong stuff. The correct stuff dries in about a day if that. Makes the mounts extremely stiff. There is a little vibration but totally worth it. AZ 2gnt members have a few mounts that i filled.

I made this page last week. The urethane I used takes 20 minutes to harden.

Does anyone else have the problem of breaking mounts and the rear brace that goes from the rear mount to tranny?

I have polyurethane front and rear inserts, but still broke the side mount under the battery tray and the brace on the rear mount due to wheel hop. Happened in an instant. Will filling all the mounts eliminate this? Is it better to do all rather than just two?

Corbin, where can you get the poly that you used. Internet? Auto store?

I haven't noticed any hop. I've got John (run4cvr's) filled mounts everywhere except over by the t-belt. They are sweet. I would think that the reason you're snapping yours is that the play is sufficient to allow the bolts to jerk around and torque the mounts more than they can handle. Of course, if I missed you saying you had the solid mounts, then maybe they are too solid? I dunno. If I had to do it all over again, and make them myself, I would probably use the Urethane like Corbin suggested for 2 reasons: Corbin's never let us down here and I'm lazy, so I want my mods NOW! :P

Jon...all the info you need is on the page. Your motor mount inserts looked very hard. I doubt they will flex much at all. Did you tighten the bolts with the "vehicle on the ground in the unladen condition" as the manual states? The holes have some play in them and you need to tighten everything with the suspension loaded like the car will be driven. The minimal flex coupled with possible motor mount mis-salignment may have put extra load on a single mount. If one mount goes, the rest will see increase load and may break too. Being a MT with a turbo'ed 2.2l probably doesn't help matters.

prothane makes solid drivers and passenger side mounts comes in a set for front rear inserts and new sides 80$

get a solid ront mounr from howell and you should not ahve a problem...
