49195, Question regarding CEL, map sensor, and upstream 02
Posted by REV_GSlow, Apr-16-03 05:38 PM
This might sound really dumb, but i have to ask. My map sensor is on the way out the door, and i really dont have the money to buy one from satan(150). Now the map has been causing the car to run very lean, which in turn causes a miss and hesitation. Now today i messed with my upstream o2 and made it throw a cel as well. This makes the car run richer. So in other words i fixed the car by breaking it. Is this something that will cause problems in the near future, or do i have a while to go?

You don't want to mess with it too much. I would hate too see being too rich smoke out your cat or being too lean cause real damage.

Here's my advice, call Bob Kise at Forum Dodge, I can't see hime charging that much for the MAP. There is a discount for being with 2GNt also.
