well it finally got done! here are a few pics of the end result. I was told the guy who did it spent around 45 hours alone in porting and polishing the head. Both intake, and exaust ports were opened up to match the gaskets, smoothed out and polished. Also, the center air divider in the middle of each port, was ground to almost a razor sharp edge. Needless to say, this head will FLOW under boost baby! Also, a 5 angle valve grind was done to ensure proper seating. Still retaining the use of stock valvetrain componets for now. Thats another project in the works.

Here is a pic of the new custom clutch disk. I'm using a stock pressure plate, and Luke flywheel, bolted together with the modular rivits drilled out. The disk is a 6 puck, ceramic facing that will be equivalent if not exceed the strength and performance of the Clutchmasters stage 4 clutch.
We just got done with putting the motor back in the car, just have to reconnect all the crap. Should be running on tuesday.

Looks very nice, Matt... I can't wait to see how it works out for you because that's my next project. The head is about the only stock part on my engine, so I'm looking for a spare one to build up. It's hard to tell from your pics, but are the combustion chambers ceramic coated?

No, the chambers are not coated, thats just the dye the guy used to know where he has taken off material. I'll let you guys know how the motor feels when its all broken in and boosting again.

You will love it Jason! The clutch has a stock like pedal feel, with engagement crisp, around the halfway mark on the clutch pedal. It grabs very nice! Its not even broken in yet :) So far, the clutch is VERY streetable. Stock like feel, with lots more grip.

That is a very sweet looking head. Congrats and thanks for the replies to my headwork post. I am sure many people are gathering info for their future setups.

Jason, Matt and I discovered that I got the wrong throwout bearings from Dan for your clutches, so I'm gonna stop by there tomorrow and see if he has the right ones before I ship yours out. I will definately have it out Thursday at the latest. I was working on Matt's car with him till this evening and didn't get home before they closed. I'll call you sometime tomorrow about it.

No problem man! The engine project probably won't start for a week or two.
Waiting on some money from a deal to pay for the timing belt stuff. :thumbsup
