I have an aftermarket cold air intake on my car...I was wondering does this device really work and for 5-10 hp gain...if it does can i still use it with after market cold air intake.

Use the search function. You'll find multiple threads stating that the "Tornado" type products are junk.

It has a remote posibility of helping a carburated motor, it will do nothing on fuel injection.

FWIW, the Iceman intake has a tornado device in the 90* elbow bend. And the Iceman is often regarded as one of, if not the best, intakes for a 2gnt.
I personally strongly believe it works well for getting air around that tight 90* bend. In a straight-through intake design or turbo intake, it wouldn't do much good.

they say it spins the air to create a vortex, yes, while that might be true in the intake, once it hits the butterfly valve, guess what.... it's not spinnning anymore if you think about it.

the iceman doesnt have a "tornado" thing...i own one..not a damn thing in there. im sure it does creat a vortex of some kind, but after it turns the bend, goes through the throttle plate, into the intake manifold, split down 4 runners and shot with fuel...it aint still gonna be spinnin.

I could see it to be somewhat beneficial for someone with a huge TB, where the velocity of air being moved is diminished due to larger volume area. I also think turbo guys might be able to use this to an extent to promote even fuel atomization and distribution in the chamber===> lower chance of detonation and even combustion burn.
However this has yet to be proven, just a theory. Plus they are asking too much for a piece of metal :P

Well nothing flows, or spins when the TB is closed. However what happens when it is open?

oh man.. that made me laugh out loud... thats funny ish. anything that gets in the way of your intake flow doesnt seem to make much sense to me... now maybe if there were 4 tiny little tornados in the lower runners of the intake manifold it would add 0.01% hp that would make sense, but otherwise naw...

Nope, it still wouldn't make sense. That is, unless your car is sponsored by Pinwheel of course ;).
