Ok ,
I just had my head ported/polished all the way round....... all valves were replaced intake mani. was ported also... I just got done installing this bad boy but when I went to turn it over..(after f***ing with the timeing for a few hours....the damn thing is knockin'... sounds almost like a small exhast leak... but all that checks out.... I hope to god Im not hitting... but I need more info b4 I tear it apart again....;(

How were you messing with timing? Couldn't get it in time?

Does it sound like rod nock? spun bearings?

nocking and exhaust leaks have two very different sounds, can you give more of a description

Probably lifter tick since your lifters were out of oil for a while.
