doubtful, maybe 10 horses to the crank. so about 6-7 to the wheels

I have an esslinger UDP on my zx2... it feels pretty good.. because the stock zx2 pulley isn't insanely huge like the 420a one is.. it might not make as much of a difference.. but man ya hold one in each hand and it's just a huge weight difference.. but ehh.. that doesn't matter much anyone, most gains are in the 'underdrive' function. in any case.. no way your gonna get 10HP.. ya might get around 3HP at the crank.

BS, it gives more than 3 hp. 10-12 is very optimistic, I would say 6-8 is realistic.

i put mine on when i was n/a .. at first it was like ahhh cool.. but i would say, a intake give you more hp anyday.. i would rate the pulley hp less then a intake, give or take about the hp of a header ( which is not much).. then later on i still had it on when i was turbo, ok ...so what you say?... then i took off the afx pulley and put the stock pulley on.. and guess what? same boost etc etc driving.. i felt no difference..
so that tells me something.

so what does it tell you it does nothing for turbo charged cars.

I remember hearing a while back on the board of someone comparing the AFX UDP equivalent to 1psi in boost

Not sure how much HP gain but I had mine installed Friday at the Mitsubishi dealer, I believe it helps my car with the lower rpms which I noticed was weak after I added my header. So far I like it.

:) :thumbsup

hey mister ZX2 don't know what your talking about, the gains are mostly from the lightening of the pulley, not from the underdrive:rolleyes that inconsistency makes your post unreliable and not really worth considering as an opinion. just thought id let you know

I have heard that with a turbo that the afx actually delivers more hp. What do other people who have turbos and an afx udp on their car think? I just bought one and I haven't put it on yet, and if it doesn't do much, then I guess I just wasted $150. So any turbo guys please let us know if there is a difference with the udp on.

you can beleive what the people tell you that are trying to sell/advertise the product. all the gains (about 95%) come from the underdriving of the accessories. they'll feed you all this BULLSHIT about lowering the rotating mass.. do you really think that removing 1-2 lbs out of 150-200lbs (total drivetrain wight, and that's being generous.. even if you go with just engine rotating mass..it's like 40-50lbs) of total rotating mass is gonna make shit for a difference?

IMO YOU=OWNED

i suppose a lightened flywheel does nothing then :rolleyes think about rolling a boulder vs a styrofoam ball. yeah thats the same, but a slightly smaller boulder, thats totally easy. even if it is 95% underdrive (ummmmm not in physics) you think you get 3hp at the crank. and why then would they make them out of aluminum. save themselves a lot of money to make them that size and not waste aluminum on 5% of 3hp. no one would feel 3hp at the wheels and say its worth the money.

YOU = i don't care

I didn't feel a damn thing. Only cool thing that i noticed was that when i turn on the a/c now i barely feel a loss in power. But then again, i never use my a/c so that doesn't relly mean anything to me.

a lightened flywheel is a HUGE weight difference compared to a UDP. ya loose like a pound or two from the UDP.. while lightened flywheels are more like 10-15lbs. lighter. and they only really help when you are trying to squeeze the last couple HP out of very mod'd car.

Yeah I can almost agree with some people here... I'm not going to lie and say I didn't feel a difference. I did but, I think I felt more of a difference in changing my fuel filter... lol... SO SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy a fuel filter.

in general.. they help.. but it's often barely noticable, if at all.
