Anyone have any ideas as to what to look for with error code 51(p0171)? I had this code pop up while the car was idling around 2 months ago. I cleared it, and didn't find anything wrong and it didn't come back till last night. Cleared it again and it hasn't came back(yet). Oh, I had just started the car last night after it was sitting for around an hour and a half(if that helps any).

here is the link of the PCM codes: http://www.2gnt.com/nuke/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=8
code 51 is "system running lean"
oh, and since you know what the code is, go ahead and find out whats wrong. check your fuel filter and injectors....dont be like some people on here who think clearning the codes solves everything and that they dont need to fix the prob. :nono

Yeah I know it needs to be looked at but it gives too many options to look at. I did find a leak on the back of the motor while changing my oil(looks like headgasket), but there are alot of other things on there to check. What is the best way to check the injectors?

id check your fuel filter first....then maybe run some fuel injector cleaner though your system and see if that helps

I changed my fuel filter not too long ago(within a year). I put some fuel injector cleaner in a couple of days ago(Outlaw brand for sport compacts, the stuff was blue...probably junk), so we'll see how long it takes for it to pop back on. Thanks for the help, and if you or anyone else have any more ideas please post them.
