48019, 1g throttle body swap question Posted by JksEclipse95, Apr-01-03 06:24 PM
I can get a 1g 60mm Throttle body for a real good price. I have found that you can easily switch this out if you have a 2g turbo without a problem. I was wondering if this is possible and if so, how to put this in my 95 GS. I have read and search and can not find a write up on how to put this in my car. I know eveyone is having good responses with the Modern Proformence Tb but I figure if it is possible to swap out this 1g TB would be cheaper then the Modern Dave one. Any info or if anyone has done this please let me know..

i cannot say for sure, but it will probably be a daunting task. ive never heard of anyone even attempting this. however...many people have put on the 60mm jeep TB, and there is a write-up on how to do this somwhere. im sure if you do a search you will find it.

Nope, those Mitsu TB's are so drastically different than our Chrystler ones. I know this for sure cause my dumbass actually bought one on ebay x( (note to self: never drink and ebay). And yeah, check for the Jeep writeup in my sig. Works like a charm. :thumbsup

Click on 1g TB conversation on the side. When I read this, it seems possible to do this, the only question of problem that i can imagining occuring is the vacum fitting on the top of the intake manifold, becuase there is not one on our cars. If I blocked the vaccum fitting on the top, wouldn't it work similar to the Jeep throttle body conversion? Just wanted to show people were I was getting my info from and see if anyone thought that it seemed made sense.

The only problem with that writeup is that it is for a 2G turbo and ours are too different.

this is for the 4g63 motor as you can tell off the bat there are alot more vacuum lines etc ( alot more differences ).. its not going to work, and if you can make it work ( which you cant ) its not going to be easy, and not worth the money since you said, you can get a 1g tb for cheap, which means you dont want to spend alot of money so i assume you would not want to get a headache from this..
