I bought autometers phantom electric oil pressure gauge and voltmeter gauge. The voltmeter is easy to do, but the oil one is trickier. What i've understood so far is that our block has a 3/8 tap in it where the stock one goes. I need to tee that off to adapt the stock and my new oil pressure gauge. I've read that write up, but it's not much help. I was thinking, can i put a 3/8m straight fitting in the block and screw a 3/8f tee onto that, then plug in the stock oil sender into one slot on the tee. and on the other run some stainless steel braided plumbing line to my new sender. Will i have enough pressure to run all the way up the 9 in. braided hose and will it hold the pressure w/o leaking? and also could it handle the heat? or should i just mount the sender on the tee w/the stock one? I heard it will be too heavy and that it will not last long mounted that way. Auto meter suggests running a hose but i need more info. Thanks so much!

Wait. I have an adapter in the block and a tee off that with the OE and the autometer senders in the tee. What this about a braided line? Don't you have the elec. gauge? If it's the elec. gauge you should just have a wire giong from the sender to your gauge. I don't think you have to worry about heat, but I would use some teflon paste for the fittings so it doesn't leak.

i heard that if you just tee off the block w/the stock and autometer one that it will vibrate and it will blow the sender because it will go over 100 psi. The braided line was to remote locate the sender.

autometer says on their website that if you're using the electric oil pressure gauge, even though it's electric you should run it to a remote location on the firewall free of vibrations and it will then perform properly. I think the words they used were on a "high revving street car". Will the sender be okay though if i just mount it to the tee off the block

I've had mine on just how i said for over 1 1/2 year. I didn't get any line with mine. The only problem I've ever had was a slight leak cause I used teflon tape instead of paste.

The highest my oil pressure has gotten was 90, because I put some 20w50 or some shit in and it was december and I stomped the gas. Aside from some oil blowing out (cause of the tape) nothing happened. I wont be doing that shit again though.

You can do it however you like I was just telling you how mine is setup. Everything is such a pain in the ass behind there anyway, I don't think I would have relocated it if I did have the line.
