ive heard stories of this happening all the time when out cars is at idle with radiator. is this true? can anyone back this? im looking to purchase one. some one let me know..

Anything is possible...if you want to lower the chances of that happening..invest in the FAL Fans

Mine has never overheated.

It'll overheat at idle if you're 1) not running fans or 2) not running a thermostat.

But then, so will any car with any radiator.

I bet you money it's not the radiator. If it does it at idle and not while driving then I bet it's the waterpump or the thermostat. Give us some more details and we can advise further. There is no way any radiator should overheat at idle esp. a fluidine. So that rumor you heard was absolutly false. There is another problem somewhere. I bet you if you put the car up on ramps you will see coolant comming from the water pump.

check the thermostat 1st. check it when its cool. open the cap, and start the car, and just look to see if the thermo opens etc. if not replace it. and its cheaper and easier then a water pump.. hehe

A radiator without proper airflow will overheat no matter how efficient or big it is.

New fans will not help this either.

Witness the bumper cutouts on both the Evo VIII and the SRT-4 for this very reason as they both come with fmic's.
