Im porting the Intake mani tomorrow, but I have to buya dremel, anyone know the required RPM to port the aluminum correctly and efficiently? theres one with 30,000 rpm, and one with 10-15000 rpm, lil low on cash, since I also have to get my header installed.

Thinking of getting the cordless 15000 rpm, but wanna know if anyone has one and has no trouble porting with it.

the plug in one is better... i would go with the stonger rpm one

dude, install ur own freaking headers...easy as sin! just unbolt your stock manifold and down pipe, (use liquid wrench!) and put your headers on using new gaskets and stainless steel bolts with anti-seize on them...its simple. took me all of 45 min to 1 hr.

Definately go with the plug in one. I've been working on porting my intake manifold for the past week with mine. IMO - Its working out pretty damn good.

Here's some shots of the upper intake(which is finished at this point) and how much I had to hork out. The uupper section is the worst - I don't know what they were thinking when they made the mold for this thing but it's WAYY off the mark. With the lower section - the gasket actually has to be cut for the upper part - so that it(the gasket) does not protrued into the air stream. And on the lower part of the lower manifold - again, the actual outlets are SOO much smaller than the gasket.

This is a before and ported shot. If you look real close at the port on the left you can see the score marks on the manifold flange - thats how far out I had to go to port match it to the lower section. The port on the right has been preliminarily ported. Look at the difference in size between the two.


Here's the finished upper intake manifold - ported and polished. Smooth as my baby's butt.

I need a welder to take off the 2 catbolts to the dp. Iys rsted whole. beed a welder.
