i recently took off the valve cover to check things out. i made sure to seal really well the spark plug seals, but now cyl 1 and 4 and full of oikl,. but the cars running fine?

i need to drive 450 miles tomorrow? what do i do? is this responsible for my horrible gas mileage

how is the car running fine with this much oil in there?

also engine was slightly warm still

can i take the volve cover off before the engine is totally cool to check it out?

how did you seal it? it sounds like your sparkplug hole gaskets or whatever they are called. take off the valve cover and clean up all the mating surfaces really good, then use some black RTV along with the gaskets to seal it up good. make sure and give it a few hours to cure.

Yeah you have bad seals on the sparkplug gaskets. I have the exact same problem with mine right now everytime I add oil I get oil in cyl 1 and 4. I have the parts on order right now to fix it. Cost like $15 for the valve cover gasket and the four plug gaskets from Bob Kise.

I have the exact same problem here! I suspected it was the valve cover gasket, but thanks for confirming it. Leitnin, I've gone about 1000 miles since I've noticed the leak (lazy), and although I'm sure it's hurting the power, it hasn'tconsumed very much oil, if any at all. So don't sweat the 450 mile drive too much.
