47067, AF/X Pulley removal question Posted by PowerEclipses, Mar-19-03 01:21 PM
I got the harmonic balancer pulley removal tool(kit) from Autozone. So my question is, there are black bolts that came with the kit, they don't fit exactly into the pulley. So what kind of bolts did you use for removing it. Any info would help, thanks.

i'm pretty sure it uses some type of 3/8" bolt. don't think it's metric. not sure about the thread pitch though.

Slightly old thread, but the AFX pulley does indeed take standard 3/8" bolts, found at any hardware store or Home Depot, ect.. Get 3 bolts that are about 4" long. Shorter bolts may not work, as there is not enough room to get from the pulley to the puller with too short of a bolt. Also, pick up 6 flat washers, and use 2 on each bolt on the back of the puller, right behind the bolt's head, to help distribute the forces and from keeping the bolt head square against the puller. Hopefuly this will help clear up the questions.
