it seems as if my car is missing... here are the symptoms

1. it mainly hesitates/misses when driving in low rpm/high(er) gear. example, i shift from second to third at 30 or less MPH, it hesitates/misses pretty badly.

2. i recently changed the plugs and wires cuz when i pulled a plug wire out laast time i couldn't get it out! it was stuck to the plug so when i finally got it out the wire was ruined. and it's still hard to pull out

3. it sounds like an electric spark sound coming from the engine some times... kinda like a click sound...

4. i can feel it miss/hesitate when at idle and the air is running.

this is getting quite annoying, my friend says that the clutch is slipping, but i think it's got sumt'n to do w/the plugs/wires

perhaps there was a bad one... heh heh that is my luck!

If your friend thinks that a clutch would have anything to do with a cylinder misfire, then never ever listen to any advice that he has to give on cars again hehe :thumbsup. If you can hear a click noise, then my guess is that your coil is grounding out on something other than the spark plug. This often happens if you have a strut tower bar that is close to the spark plug wires. You can see a spark arc from the coil/wire to the bar if you look closely (easy to see at night). If you don't have a strut tower bar, then you should check the resistance across your ignition coil with an ohm meter, or try replacing your spark plug wires/plugs.

also check your air filter! your engine could be starving for air.

Check your spark plug wells for oil. I have a leaking seal and it causes oil to seep down and drench the plug, which causes a missfire and lovely hesitation.

wow, thanks... that realy just cleared up for me! i remember when i was leaning on the strut bar one day (w/motor running) i heard that click and got a JOLT run up my arm!!!

so that is doin' it... but now what do i do to fix that problem?

If your strut bar has a raised section that elevates it up in one area and the lowers back on the sides, try to adjust it so that the raised area is furthest away from the spark plug wires. Most strut bars are adjustable so that they can move from side to side by screwing in one side and unscrewing the other. If you have a straight bar style one, find where the spark is arcing onto the bar and try to increase the distance between those 2 points. You could also go buy some plug wires that insulate better (msd).

hey take a test light with the car running a put it around the wires to see if it arcs to it if so u probably got some bad wires,check the gap of ur plugs, and if u can check the resistance in ur coil pack

hey, i tried to move the wires as far away from the strut bar as possible and it runs fine now...!!!! but the wires had before never gave me problems like this... these wires are the bosch ones that were more money...

anywhoo i'll probably order some msd wires, whats a good price and perhaps a link..? thanks
