after 6 months running in place my baby seems to be leaking ( ever so slightly ) from the corners of the valve cover. i know that it isnt brain sugury to change but are there any performance gaskets out there that out do the stockers? thanks ... i want her running ship shape by the shootout

The OEM one is just fine, just make sure to use RTV where you should like around the cam circles (what ever they are called) but basically when you take the old one off you will see where RTV was used, just clean that off really well and reapply in the same spots

The valve cover gasket should really not need any RTV,as its a rubber gasket,that should form to fill all the gaps. I have never had an oil leak the many times my vc has been off. Just be sure its nice and clean on both surfaces. I dont know if this is true, but i think i read in the FSM that using RTV on that rubber gasket, can deteriorate it slowly, eventually causing leaks. Someone else may want to confirm this. If you want, you can use a small dab of rtv around the "bumps" of the ends of the VC.

thanks xtreeme shes going in next weekend so i will update u guys on what was done.. my freind will be working on it and i will be with him getting my tutorial so this should be fun seeing my babies internals ..
