hey guys. im doing the AFX UDP install, and i have the pulley most of the way on. im working at it with a 3/4 tire iron which is working for 19mm pretty well but now its getting a little hard and i don't want it to slip. When will i know its on far enough and how do i adjust that damn alternator. i can't get it to move, so i just cut the old belt off but i will obviously need to move it to install the new one. thanks guys.

yeah, the drive pulley/UDP is on there TIGHT. you really need to heat the thing up to get the metal to expand in order to actually be able to bang it on with a rubber mallet. that's how i got mine on.

the alternator is pretty easy to adjust. there's a "T" bolt thingy, one of the ends of the "T" points back to the firewall, you need to loosen that bolt and then loosen the bolt that's on the other side. kind of hard to describe...

i was afraid of that. getting to the lower bolt is what i wished i didn't have to do. oh well, time to head out and pry and twist and bleed.

as far as the udp, i think im just gonna twist and twist and hammer and hammer. thanks guys

If you take out the crankshaft bolt, you can look into the hole, and try and see if the end of the crank is touching the back of the UDP. I always do this when i install that thing, to know when its fully on. Dont get confused though, the crank hole has a slight taper before the threads start, so look carefuly at the very outer edge of the hole, to see if the UDP is touching the end of the crank.
