Okay, I had a spare TB sitting around so I thought I would take my dremel and a MC honing kit and go to town. Well I removed pretty much the whole lip on the inside. The opening is almost completely flush all the way to the throttle plate. I still have some polishing to do. My question is, do you think I will see any gains from this? If so, about how much? I am putting it on SUN, if I can find a gasket. Any suggestions on where to get a gasket by sunday? Autozone and Advance Auto didn't have it.

You will see some gains, mostly in the very high RPMS (from 6k - 7k) It will be interesting to see the difference between a ported TB and a 55mm bored TB, my 55mm should be here early next week.

Let me know what the results are. To bore it out, you would need a larger throttle plate, correct? Because I could only port it up to where the plate is.

Yeah, the throttle plate would be replaced when it is bored. I will definetely let you know what I find out.

>>all i noticed from mine was the shitty start up that's been there ever since i did the dremeling. Car doesn't feel any faster, but if you tell yourself it does it will. Airflow really won't be improved drastically unless its a full through bore w/new plate<<

If your car starts up shitty then maybe it was due to a shitty dremmeling job? ;) Taking out that hump was enough to feel a difference. Really if you think about it, even at 55mm you are not DRASTICALLY improving the airflow. It should be interesting to see if it makes any difference.

that's odd that you couldn't get the gasket at advance. i got mine from there and i work there. you'll have to order it cause it'll be coming from the warehouse. tell them they won't find it in the computer they'll have to look in the felpro gasket book. you might get it tomorrow or you might get stuck getting in on monday.

well I put on the afx bored TB, I was neither impressed or disapointed if that makes sense. Probably saw some gains, defintely noticed increased throttle response.

I had my throttle body bored out by a local machine shop, just bored to the size of the the stock throttle plate!!! I havent really had a chance to see its full potential since there is snow on the ground but i noticed a diff in throttle response!!! I also put on a port and polished intake manifold so i cant wait till the snow is gone and i can get my CAI back on so i can see how she feels!!
