This may seem like a dumb question, but how do you get the oil pan off? I can figure out removing the bolts and all, but I was under the car the other day, and it seemed like my oil pan ran up and above my exhaust and other things. Do I have to remove anything else to take the oil pan off, or should it come off fairly easily? I ask because I'm going to give the crank scraper (windage tray) a shot (possibly), I figure it could be worth it, and it's only $50. The guy on dsmtuners installed his, and said the car felt "smoother" and seemed to have a bit more pep.

There is one useless bracket at the front of the motor that runs betweent eh block and trans that has to come off, as it is blocking two oil pan bolts. Also, you'll have to drop the centermember to get the pan out - dropping the downpipe helps too.

I found 2 useless brackets on the block and tranny to remove. If you got tiny hands you dont have to remove the center cross memeber but its a snap to get on so its up to you.

Are you sure those weren't lift points?

No they're support brackets that tie the trans to the engine block. It's just there to add more stability to the engine trans assembly.
