45968, A little Flowmaster help

Looking at getting my exhaust next week from a local shop that did the dual Flows on my ElCo way back when...I'm going with 2.5" but not sure which series muffler to get...do I get the...

40 Series Original (interior-deep, exterior-powerful) or the
40 Series DeltaFlow (interior-deep, exterior-powerful) or the
American Thunder for the Eclipse...

I'm not really sure of the differences between each, except I had dual 40 series and it was loud as hell!!!

Thanx...

...also does the tip size affect performance and tone/sound? What size should I go with?

i used to have the original 40 series back in the day. it was SO loud, i couldn't deal with it. right now i have the 60 seires delta flow, i think that's the "american thunder" system. it's not too bad, a lot quieter than the 40 series.

Have you checked out their website? From what I remember they gave a prety good description of sound levels between their series', and yes 40 series are loud...

IMO flowmasters SUCK, #1 mines rusted out after 8 months
#2 I lost low end torque from it

Your money is much better spent on a nice catback system In my opinion..

Plus its like 70 bucks for the muffler then like 40 more for a tip, then its like 50 bucks to have it all welded on.

I have a 40 series delta flow flowmaster... I LOVE IT! Nice and loud... your ears will ring until you get used to it though... i've had it for 2 years and never had a problem with it... it is really loud...my only complaint is that i can't hear my intake anymore! I love the growl it gives when i go WOT all the way to redline... Dizamm... makes it worth every penny, imo. and i still have the stock exhaust piping.... 2.5" in (offset), dual 2" out...

I have the American thunder for the Eclipse and I like it a lot. However, I need to upgrade the rest of my exhaust to a full 3" since besides the Flowmaster all I have is the stock piping(from cat to flowmaster) and I run over 20psi now. I would give you a killer deal on it if you want it, also you could put it on yourself and not have to pay the exhaust shop anything. I can e-mail pics if your interested. In the next couple of months when I get my 3" its going in the for sale section.
