45829, Symborski Shifter Question Posted by FlyinEsi, Mar-03-03 01:22 PM
Alright, I got the shifter kit and a lot of people said they noticed a big difference...did I do something wrong? I didn't notice anything...
I got the kit with the metal bushings to replace the rubber onces...did that...and the metal shaft to replace the original with the bigger opening...is there anything else I should have done...I didn't notice one bit of change?
Thanks for the help...

The shifter movement should be much more precise. You took out the whole rubber bushing and replaced each one with a top and bottom metal bushing, right? I don't know how you couldn't feel a difference in how the shifter moves if you installed everything properly.

i just installed the shifter kit as well..however, i have not had a chance to test out the shifting because my turbo is being put in so its sitting in the shop.. =(... but i did notice that the play was stiff.. meaning..there was almost no play at all compared to the shifter in the before state (rubber bushings, etc).. I'm sure i'll notice a diff. when i actaully get to test it out.. especially when i go from 2nd to 3rd gear.
