ok.... i raced a 94 civic non vtec 1.5 automatic(a while back(he had a muffler and cai)...and i have a 97 eclipse rs automatic(i had 9 1/2 inch holes in my muffler and a apc cone filter)we was close in both the 1/8 and 1/4 mile...now hes go a chip...i got test pipe , muffler , cai , msd coil pack , msd 8.5mm plug wires and bosch plat+4s & p & p tb...and i can smoke him in the 1/8 but he get me by a car lenth(his back bumber at my front)... any ideas whats wrong or is it suposed to happen like that???.... i need help

get an exhaust with a little bigger pipin, if your pipin is stock then might be holdin ya up. 2.5 is the most i would go while not boostin.

so thats all i have to do to smoke him???... here in a couple of weeks i'm takin it to the track in knoxville,tennessee and see what i can do with it...anyone else got a comment before i go get bigger pipin...and i'm goin to pull the motor out soon (after i finish buildin my honda)and go threw it and get a hahn stage 2 turbo kit... so should i go with 2.5 or 3 inch piping???

Final drive mod dude. best bang for the buck IMO.

ok if i get it and the shift kit how hard will it be to put in cas i know nuttin about transmissions

He's not talking about a shift kit. It's the final drive mod - it lowers your transmission's final drive gearing. It should give you a noticable improvement(I've heard as much as .6 seconds) in the 1/4.

sucks that intakes and exhausts for honda add like 12hp because the stock ones are like the size of my little finger. final drive mod, shift kit, bigger exhaust are all good ideas. another idea might be to get rid of some of the weight you have in you car (my car weighs like 3700lbs). take out the back seats if you don't use them or whatever you have in your trunk that you won't need. that should help a little too and it's free.

this is my wife's car not mine she won't me do anything like that to it... but soon it will have a fiber glass box with 4 10s and 2 amps,right now it just has 2 12s in a big sealed box and a decent amp and shes gotta keep it

ask your wife if you can lighten her car for the track. it's free except for the time and effort (which won't be much). don't worry about that stuff if your racing on the street cuz you aren't getting timeslips and you can't say "mr civic can you wait here while i go to my house and take all this stuff out of my car". it's not that big of a deal but the whole free part makes it attractive. :thumbsup

i would rather just go fast with all the shit in it...that way i can brag...plus when we race we go to the spot open our hoods and talk about our cars and tell each other what has been done to them... what i'm tryin to say when sum1 around here sees that u've gutted ur car they wont race...i'm thinkin about gettin final gear mod , shift kit , 3 inch exhast(cas i'll have a turbo kit soon(HRC stage 2))


sumin else is its smoke(blue smoke) i was told that it was runin rich and that it was burning oil... could this be the rings??? i havnt did a compression test yet...

Why in the world would you put 9, 1/2 inch holes in your muffler?

to relieve back pressure and have a little bit better sound,it was pretty deep and no weed eater sound

im in Bowling Green KY and i need to be around people with knowledge of the 420a cause everyone around here is just stupid...how far away is Knoxville from BG id like to see the turbo set up on a 420a and maybee get a rid in the passenger side for some motivation...if u know what i mean....
