I just put this thing together like 10 minutes ago, and I want you guys to argue with me all the way... What am i missing (because i can think of things im missin that i just havent listed) and whats there that is not necessary... Have fun with add, just keep in mind that im workin with about $2500 or so...

maybe some of the other guys can back me up on this, you should use the Total Seal Piston Rings. i can't remember the exact reason but im sure somebody else will.

i dont like the way total seal rings seat and over half the time they let oil by and smoke they are crap..

ill use JE rings on JE pistons and Weisco rings on Weisco pistons

maybe subsitute in Hastings rings but not total seal stuff..

ive got a kit with all that stuff on it hit the web page...

Total seal rings have to be installe dproperly, there are a few was to do it depending on how you set up the the car, so you have to install right or you have oil problems, I would say go with Hatsings, JE, Wisco, like said.

I'll of course say higher compression pistons, but the lower is easier to boost on.

I only think the grounding system is worth it you have problems with yrou current one and you aren't getting good grounds througout the car.

If you can afford it, get some cams as well.

little off topic, but how easy/hard is it to put the rings on pistons? if you order new pistons are the rings already on them? I remember from one of my classes in high school my teacher saying the rings are really easy to snap. just wondering because i might be needing to do some of that in the future and i'd rather not pay a shop.

I did the install myself and the rings are a snap to put on. They will come with directions. I love the total seal rings. If installed correctly you will get very little to no blow by at all. I've had the rebuilt engine for about 8 months now and had no blow by at all. Oil level has stayed near constant from oil change to oil change. But they are awesome. I just have a dump tube from the crank case breather and it's still clean.
