chilton says to unplug the fuel connector, but i unplgged the pump to get it to die....is that wrong....says i need to drain the coolant to remove my TB? necessary?

all of what you said is nonsense (for lack of a better word).

unplug the two sensors on the firewall side of your throttle body.
loosen the two bolts that hold the t/b to the intake manifold..

of course take off your intake piping..

and buy a new gasket from satan/dodge (dodge is cheeper)

unless you have a 2.4l spyder, then you need to drain the coolant a little cause it runs through the TB. click on the link in my sig you should be able to find what you need. the chiltons manual sucks ass.

exactly what they said, take off your intake, remove the vacuum hose off the top of the tb, disconnect the accelerator cable, then remove the IAC sensor and the TPS sensor, take out the two bolts and you're done. if you're putting a new tb on, good luck getting the sensors out of the old one. that's the hardest part of the whole process.

I sprayed mine with "PB Blaster" let it sit and then put Throttle body in vice...put enough pressure to hold it very tight...and took my time to work the screwes out......

By the way I swear by PB blaster any one else??? way better than WD-40

i wish i had some of that pb blaster when i was changin tb's. i was soooooo pissed that i took the old tb out and wasn't able to put the new one in because of one damn screw. so i left everything out.....took my sister's car to home depot the next morning, got some new screws for the sensors, and then hack sawed through the old screws. problem solved...but too much work to get a screw out if ya ask me.

yeah i had to cut them out with a dremel, luckily i had an extra TPS or i would have been screwed.

OMG, PB Blaster is the shit!! Throw that WD-40 out in the garbage.. I will never use anything else.

PB blaster is the best, only topped by a concotion we once made mixing PB Blaster, brake clean, and a coupl eother things... was great at killing rust if I could remember what we put in it... (surprised we didn't blow up the parts store my friend used to work at)

^^^^ yea i was kinda thinking the same thing....i dont see anywhere where it flows close to our TB's......maybe there is something just u and me are missing here lol

No, not on ours on the 4G6X's they cool the TB, so you need to drop colant level or create a large mess. Ours has nothign but air through it. The directions as posted were not for our motor.
